The Human Alarm Clock
Technology tends to make a lot of old professions and trades obsolete. The motor car put a lot of buggy makers out of work. And apparently the invention of the alarm clock put this fellow out of business too.
In the early part of the 20th century people used to pay him to walk around their neighborhood and knock on their windows until they woke up. We;re not sure who got the Human Alarm Clock up, but maybe he owned a rooster.
