Corrections Policy
Historical photographs can be difficult to identify with certainty. Dates, locations, captions, and names may vary between archives or may have been mislabelled long before an image reached modern readers. Illustrated Past welcomes careful corrections, additional context, and source information from readers.
If you believe an article contains an error, please send the article title, the relevant passage, your proposed correction, and any supporting source or explanation. We review correction requests in good faith and may update an article when the evidence supports a change.
Corrections are intended to improve accuracy and usefulness. We do not remove historically relevant material merely because it is old-fashioned, uncomfortable, or contrary to modern taste, but we may add clarification where context would help readers understand the image more fairly.
